Seed Eligibility
- Only seed approved by ACIA as eligible for certification may be used to establish certified seed fields.
Land Requirements
- Fields must meet ACIA previous safflower cropping restrictions, volunteer safflower control, and field eligibility requirements.
Field Inspection
- One official inspection is conducted during flowering when varietal characteristics, off-types, and overall field condition can be evaluated.
Isolation Requirements

Field Standards
Off-type plants present in excess of the maximum permitted frequency shall be rogued before full bloom. Fields reaching full bloom with excessive off-types are not eligible for certification.
