Pure Seed Advisory Committee

The Pure Seed Advisory Committee’s role is to advise the Board of Directors regarding the eligibility of new crop varieties for certification and to draft and/or review and recommend the general and specific standards and procedures that make up the official seed certification program in Arizona.
The committee is currently comprised of 16 members including five representatives of the College of Agriculture at the University of Arizona and one representative of the Agricultural Research Service of the USDA who are appointed by the dean of the college, who also appoints the chair. The seed industry in the state appointed nine members, six of whom are plant breeders. Finally, the president of ACIA appoints one grower member.
ACIA’s Executive Vice President is an ex officio member and acts as secretary.
